From Seedcamp's Fintech Darling to Investor Misfit

When Steven started Satago in 2012, he and his cofounder set out to change the world of business payments, namely stamping out late payments. His startup grew at a tremendous pace as the poster child of Seedrs fintech portfolio and finalist at TechCrunch Disrupt. This B2B reporting service evolved to finance provision, harnessing the power of crowdsourced payment data from companies and their business clients. Then in 2017 things didn’t go to plan, tranched investment sums didn’t materialise and Steven ended up having to put Satago into administration where it was snapped up over a weekend by Arrowgrass Capital.

About Steven:

Steven Renwick is a Berlin based, Scottish serial entrepreneur. He founded Satago in 2012 and was one of the first successfully crowdfunded fintech startups in the Seedrs portfolio. Since (ingloriously) exiting the Satago in 2017 he has experimented with a few startups, including co-founding an AI company in the HR sector, working with Entrepreneur First, as well as advising other startups and entrepreneurs. Steven is currently working on a new deep tech startup launching in 2022.
