Company Info
Environment Bank is a private company working to broker biodiversity compensation agreements (offsets) for developers and landowners. As an impartial adviser, we calculate the environmental impact of development proposals using approved Government metrics. Our ecological experts then match a developer's compensation requirement with sites put forward by landowners and conservationists who have conservation credits available to sell. Credits are sold in exchange for the creation or enhancement of habitats, generating biodiversity gain. Please note that Environment Bank is not a 'habitat bank', we are a compensation brokering and consultation company - we do not own or manage land, our role is to register potential receptor sites and to match them to the needs of developers and local planning authorities - the right type of site, of the right size, in the right place, at the right time, for the right cost. And if we do not have a suitable site already registered, we can actively and efficiently search for land using our partners (such as AB Sustain), or facilitate a compensation arrangement on land already owned by a developer or even the planning authority. Thereafter, our legal and fiscal systems assure planning authorities that such biodiversity compensation measures have been arranged independently and delivery will be overseen and guaranteed in the long-term.
